This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") explains what is and is not allowed when using Afomo ("Platform", "we", "our", "us"). This Policy applies to all users, including buyers, sellers, agents, and any person accessing our services.

By using Afomo, you agree to comply with this Policy, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws and regulations.

1. Purpose of Afomo

Afomo is a marketplace platform for legitimate commerce transactions involving listed products and related buyer-seller interactions.

The Platform must not be used for unlicensed financial services, money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or any activity that violates applicable law.

2. Prohibited Activities

You must not use Afomo to:

  1. Buy, sell, list, advertise, or promote illegal goods or services.
  2. Engage in fraud, deception, impersonation, identity theft, phishing, or account takeover.
  3. Circumvent KYC, verification, transaction controls, settlement checks, or compliance processes.
  4. Use the Platform for money transfer, cash laundering, or movement of funds unrelated to genuine product transactions.
  5. List counterfeit, stolen, or unauthorized goods.
  6. Sell restricted, dangerous, or prohibited items, including weapons, explosives, narcotics, or prescription drugs without legal authorization.
  7. Publish content that is abusive, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, or unlawful.
  8. Misuse payment workflows, dispute systems, refunds, or chargeback processes.
  9. Introduce malware, bots, scraping scripts, or attempts to compromise platform security.
  10. Violate intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or confidentiality obligations.

3. Restricted Goods and Services

The following categories are prohibited or restricted on Afomo unless expressly approved in writing and legally authorized:

  1. Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia.
  2. Weapons, ammunition, explosives, and related accessories.
  3. Counterfeit currency, forged documents, or stolen data.
  4. Adult sexual services, exploitative content, and human trafficking-related material.
  5. Wildlife trafficking and endangered species products.
  6. Gambling products or services without required licenses.
  7. Unlicensed financial products, investment schemes, or remittance services.
  8. Any other category prohibited by law, payment partners, or card network rules.

4. Account Integrity and Security

Users must:

  1. Provide accurate and up-to-date registration and profile information.
  2. Keep login credentials and wallet PIN secure.
  3. Promptly report unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  4. Complete required KYC and verification checks when requested.

Users must not create fake accounts, share accounts, or use another person's account without authorization.

5. Seller Responsibilities

Sellers on Afomo must:

  1. List only lawful products they are authorized to sell.
  2. Provide accurate product descriptions, pricing, stock, and delivery details.
  3. Fulfill orders in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Maintain valid identity/business records and cooperate with compliance checks.
  5. Refrain from off-platform conduct that evades platform protections or payment controls.

6. Buyer Responsibilities

Buyers on Afomo must:

  1. Place genuine orders with intent to complete transactions.
  2. Use payment methods lawfully and in good faith.
  3. Raise disputes honestly with truthful evidence.
  4. Avoid abusive cancellation, refund, or dispute behavior.

7. Agent Responsibilities

Where agent-assisted services are available, agents must:

  1. Follow platform and compliance rules strictly.
  2. Verify user details before any assisted cash-in/cash-out workflow.
  3. Never process transactions designed to hide source of funds or evade controls.
  4. Keep records and cooperate with compliance investigations.

8. Monitoring and Enforcement

Afomo may monitor platform activity, listings, and transactions for security, fraud prevention, and compliance purposes.

If we suspect a violation, we may take actions including:

  1. Listing removal or content moderation.
  2. Temporary restrictions on account actions.
  3. Account suspension or termination.
  4. Transaction cancellation, settlement hold, or refund review.
  5. Reporting to payment partners, regulators, or law enforcement where required.

10. Changes to This Policy
